A Gentle Place to Begin
L.I.V.E. Local Gatherings
After loss, almost everything feels unfamiliar.
The house may be the same. Your calendar may still fill up. People may still invite you to things. But something about being in the world — and especially being around other people — can feel different.
Harder. Quieter. More exposed.
Many widows tell us that one of the most difficult parts of loss isn’t just the grief itself. It’s the subtle disorientation of no longer knowing where you fit. Social settings can feel overwhelming. Small talk can feel exhausting. Even sitting at a table with friends can feel like more than you have to give.
And yet — isolation doesn’t heal us either.
Community doesn’t automatically feel safe again.
It takes time.
It takes courage.
It takes small, manageable steps.
That is why we created L.I.V.E. Local Gatherings.
These are not support groups.
There is no formal program.
No spotlight.
No pressure to share your story.
They are simply local, welcoming spaces where widows can practice being in community again.
You can talk if you’d like.
You can listen if that feels better.
You can come for a short time or stay longer.
There is no right way to show up.
Rooted in our L.I.V.E. framework — Acknowledging loss, Identity Restoration, Values & Vision, and Engagement with life — these gatherings honor something important: that reconnection is part of healing.
Not forced.
Not rushed.
Just gently practiced.
After loss, even sitting at a table with other women who understand can feel like progress.
If you’ve been wondering how to take a step back toward community, this may be a good place to begin.
We would love to welcome you. Check out the upcoming events listed on our website here. Come as you are.
In addition, if you feel a quiet nudge to help create space for other widows — to host, support, or begin a L.I.V.E. Local Gathering in your community — we would be grateful to connect with you.
